Sante Fe College - A.A. degree in Sociology, 2006
not much to say about this experience, at the time of earning this degree I had no idea what career field I would pursue. With the prerequisites out of the way I moved on to the..
University of Florida - Bachelor of Science in Geomatics, 2008
One may ask, what is Geomatics? It is science dealing in the methods of collecting and revealing spatial relationships through the disciplines of: Cadastral Principles, Geodesy and Geodetic Positioning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Route Geometrics and Design, Subdivision Design, Surveying and Mapping Practice; with additional studies in Business Law, Dendrology, Hydrographic Surveying, and LiDAR
As a summer job I worked for Ramtech Industries, where I stripped wires all day every day. Of course I had to leave this glamorous life with the coming of each school year. As a senior in high school, I did the co-op work experience elective and took my two courses in the morning and took off for work. With the coming and going of co-workers I gained more responsibility and eventually earned the trust of management to perform any tasks with the upmost care and efficiency. At the time of my leaving I performed the critical functions of assembling the sensitive products produced by the company. Hey now, soldering is a true art; with a hot iron in hand, fusing the ends of tiny contacts in a mesh of plastic-coated wires, risk burning fingers instead of compromising the solder joint.
Now what products did I manufacture? …everything necessary to transfer audio signals from instruments and microphones to the various mixing platforms, output systems, and recording mediums. During my tenure I became exposed to an interesting dilemma, the technological edge of taking analog sounds and replicating them digitally.
A valued asset:
In the event when an electrical device fails, I’m able to troubleshoot and replace corroded components with understanding of the systematic processes of such technology.
construction trade -
I entered the construction field as a sheetrock installer. Meant as a temporary means of paying the bills, I quickly developed some skills and a little muscle. Immersed in a building boom, the pay I earned allowed me to continue my college education. Because I built a good reputation among my employers, I continued working weekends while I attended the university. As I neared graduation I picked up an intern gig and happily said goodbye to drywall. Little did I know would be back.
Even though I know every aspect of slinging rock, the job doesn't feel rewarding anymore. Once something becomes routine, the challenge is over. I continually go in each day passionate about my work ethic, but the brain is left to squander away. I want to be challenged...

In December of '09 I participated in the building of a house for the hit TV series Extreme Makeover Home Edition for the Wagstaff family here in Gainesville, Fl.

surveying and mapping -
I was lured to the surveying and mapping profession with the promise of a job in a field which incorporates a strong suite of mine, mathematics and a natural love, the outdoors. I walk the lines that people think either I’m crazy or a surveyor. After graduating I enjoyed a brief stint out in the field, where I was submerged deep within the Kissimmee River basin. I am eagerly looking for an opportunity to reenter the surveying and mapping profession.
With field and office experience:
In the office, I am able to bare the harsh environment of air conditioning and I find myself being very confident in self-learning new software bundles and technologies. (check out additional skills)
Out in the field, well it feels like home. I am incredibly excited about the technology jump we are experiencing; nowadays we can bring the technologies which once restrained us to the office and the accompanying desk, to the field. As a side note: technological advances seemed to separate us from nature but today nature is being bombarded with technology and its savvy users. As we learn about the relationship between man, machine, and nature, harmony will pursue
